OUR MISSION AND PURPOSE

  The Carteret County Health Department’s mission is to promote and protect the highest standards of healthy living for all county citizens. The health department strives to assure that health services are available to all persons in the county and environmental health standards are met. Same day or next business day appointment is our goal. All personal health services are confidential.

A BRIEF HISTORY AND WHO WE ARE

  The Carteret County Health Department has served residents of Carteret County, North Carolina since it was created in 1937. It is funded with a combination of Federal, State and County monies and is governed by an eleven-member Board of Health appointed by the County Commissioners. Carteret County Health Department provides a variety of preventive health care services, screenings and informational programs.
