The Environmental Health Program
is responsible for monitoring conditions within the community
that could present a threat to the health and safety of
the public. Through a staff of trained professionals working
throughout the community each day, the environmental health
program has a significant role in monitoring the health
status of the community and controlling those problems that
may affect health.
Environmental specialists are
assigned responsibilities in a variety of programs ranging
from water quality protection, wastewater treatment and
disposal, solid and hazardous waste management, sitting
private wells, food and lodging inspections and permits
to community programs such as pool permits, lead investigations
and indoor air education.
