Food, Lodging and Institutions Program
The Food, Lodging and Institutions Program is responsible for plan review and sanitation inspections of food service establishments such as restaurants, food stands, push carts, mobile food units, meat markets, school lunchrooms, temporary food stands at festivals, and institutional food service. The program also covers plan review and inspection of child care centers, hotels, motels, bed and breakfast inns and homes, summer camps, tattoo artists, school buildings, residential care facilities, confinement facilities, hospitals and nursing homes. The program provides food safety education and is an active participant in the Public Health Preparedness Team for food borne outbreak investigations, disaster response and bioterroism response.
